Technical assistance

Required hardware

To use OPUS en ligne, you must have:

  • a computer with a USB port (2 GB of RAM and a 2.8 GHz processor or more);
  • a monitor with a screen resolution of at least 1024 pixels (1024 x 768 or more):
  • an OPUS card reader;
  • a valid email address.

N.B. Tablets and smart phones are not compatible.

Notes:

  • Windows XP, Vista and Linux operating systems are not compatible.
  • Users of Safari with Mac navigating with the keyboard must first activate the advanced preference option in order to use Tab to highlight each item on a webpage.
  • Web browsers and operating systems are frequently updated. OPUS en ligne will continue to be compatible with a reasonable number of versions. Before downloading a more recent version of your browser or changing your operating system, please ensure your system is compatible with one of the supported configurations.

Browser configuration

When using for the first time, you must download and install the SmartCardPlugin.

  1. From the home page,  choose between two options to download the plugin:
    • Use the CLICK HERE link on the banner.



      or

    • Click on the Initiate fare reload button. A window will open; click on the Download and install plugin button  

       
  2. Afterwards, you must install the downloaded plugin.

    Internet Explorer: at bottom of screen, click on Run or Save to run program later.




    Firefox: You must save program file and, in top right corner of screen, click on arrow to display your download.







    Chrome: at bottom left of screen, you will see the downloaded plugin.



    MAC: you will find the plugin at bottom right of screen in your downloads.



     
  3. From the home page, click on the Initiate fare reload button.
  4. Your browser will open a window so that you may allow the SmartCardPlugin to run. Click to give permission for plugin activation.

Tip: If you want your computer to remember that these components were installed, tick or untick the appropriate box when prompted by most browsers. The message requesting permission will no longer appear the next time.

Install the Java add-on

This website uses a Java add-on, a platform that enables you to safely use the OPUS service. Proper usage requires that your browser have an version of the add-on. Check to see if your add-on is up to date by clicking on the button below.

Javascript must be activated to use the online OPUS service. Note: Javascript and Java are two different things and each must be activated separately.

Important : some of the functions offered by the OPUS en ligne service cannot be used if you do not accept cookies.

Card reader and Java


  1. Go to Device Manager

    Windows 7 ou 8
    - Click Start .
    - Click Control Panel and click Devices and Printers.

    Windows 10
    - Click Start 
    - Click Settings 
    - Select Devices.

    Windows 11
    - Click Start 
    - Click Settings 
    - Left-click on the Bluetooth and Devices button
    - Right-click on the Devices button

    MAC
    - Click the apple icon  
    - Click About This Mac and More Info.... Click Hardware and then USB to access the USB Device Tree.
  2. Make sure the text that matches your card reader appears.

      If the text that matches your card reader is not listed.

      A. Connect the reader to another USB port and check your devices again.

      B. If the problem continues, install the pilot manually.
